A Meissen hunting teabowl and saucer
CIRCA 1725, GILDER'S 52. MARKS TO BOTH, DREHER'S .. MARK TO SAUCER
Finely painted with hunting scenes, one side of the teabowl with three huntsmen, two on horseback, the other side with four hounds in pursuit of a stag, within elaborate shaped quatrefoil gilt cartouches with Böttger-lustre panels edged with gilt scrolls issuing puce scrolls and red husks, the interior with indianische Blumen below a broad gilt Laub-und-Bandelwerk border below the rim, the saucer with huntsmen hunting fowl with falcons within a similar cartouche and border, the underside with three concentric red circles, gilt line rims (teabowl with minute flake to gilt rim, saucer with very slight wear to two lustre panels, minute areas of wear to centre and slight chip to footrim)
