A Vienna (du Paquier) beaker and trembleuse saucer
CIRCA 1730, INCISED Z (?)
Painted in greenish-sepia enriched in gilding, the beaker of slender very slightly flared form, the lower half of the exterior moulded with slender vertical gadroons, decorated above in the Kakiemon manner with two flowering prunus branches, the interior with three flower-sprays, the trembleuse saucer with a raised pierced gallery enclosing four stylised flowerheads and a central flowerhead, the gallery cut with pierced inverted heart-shaped panels divided by shaped triangular panels, the gallery exterior enriched with foliage and scrolls, the top with zig-zag ornament, the border with two similar large flowering branches divided by flowerheads (beaker with two small rim chips, saucer with two chips to underside of rim, areas of minute wear to both, saucer with wear to centre)
