Breveté du Roi Horloger a Paris. Circa 1790
The dial covered by a glazed door with blue enamelled bezel, the white enamel chapter disc centred by the time dial with Arabic outer concentric ring and inner alarm dial, both with blued steel hands, the outer subsidiary rings indicating: seconds, month, age of moon and the phases, day of week and their relevant signs, date, signs of the Zodiac and escapement regulation, signed at the base BREVETÉ DU ROI HORLOGER A PARIS, the fully skeletonised movement with brass movement plates pierced in a circular concentric manner, visible going spring within the barrel, the skeletonised quarter countwheel planted on the backplate with the hours and the quarters struck on two bells between the plates, the alarm struck on a bell on the opposing side of the movement with visible alarm spring above, the escapement with Lepine's saw-tooth lever escapement, the drum-shaped case surmounted by a cockerel and with goat's hoof bipodia ormolu feet resting on a rectangular ormolu trellis engraved platform with berried laurel mouldings and supported on four ormolu acanthus cast and milled feet
