The massive twin chain fusee movement with five double-screwed conical pillars, best quality platform escapement with intricate foliate engraved balance cock with diamond endstone to cut bimetallic balance with gold compensation screws, double overcoiled blued steel spring, lever escapement, the contrate pivots held in jewelled screwed chatons, Harrison's maintaining power, all wheels with five crossings, hour strike on a blued steel gong of rectangular section secured to the backplate signed CHAS. FRODSHAM, CLOCK MAKER TO THE KING, 115 NEW BOND St. W. No. 2188, the front plate stamped 2937 to the lower right corner, the dial with foliate engraved mask to the Willis-type white enamel chapter disc with Roman numerals and delicate blued steel fleur-de-lys hands, signed CHAS FRODSHAM CLOCK MAKER TO THE KING 115 NEW BOND STREET LONDON 2188, up-and-down enamel disc below calibrated 0-7, the case best quality with outswept reeded canted angles and similar feet, heavily bevelled lead glass to the sides and top, solid rear door with shuttered wind and handset apertures
