A Pallisy-type oval dish
perhaps by Charles Jean Avisseau, applied to the centre with a model of a crocodile on a bed of extruded clay within foam, among shells, ferns and oak branches and models of a serpent, fish, a lizard, a frog and insects, enriched predominantly in green, brown, yellow and blue glazes -- 17½in. (44.4cm.) wide (minor damages)
