A Restauration ormolu striking mantel clock, circa 1820
Modelled with a figure of a bacchanalian youth standing beside a ewer, a twin-handled cup standing on a column to one side, the base with further mounts emblematic of bacchanalian revelry, on large milled feet, with vine leaf and grape cast bezel to a dial with engine-turned centre, steel hands, the eight day twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell -- 23in. (59cm.) high
