A French large gilt-spelter figural striking mantel clock and garniture, late 19th century
The case modelled with a figure of Christopher Columbus and inscribed CHRISTOPHE/COLOMB/AMERIQUE, with trophy mounts to one side, the dial applied with individual white enamel Roman cartouche chapters, the eight day twin barrel movement with countwheel strike on bell -- 24in. (61cm.) high; and the pair of four-light candelabra en suite, modelled as male and female sauvage figures, on bases modelled with seated elephant-headed figures to the sides -- 24¼in.
