An unusual German brass and painted iron quarter-striking table clock, late 17th century and later
Now adaped as a wall clock with circular painted iron dial (rubbed), above two bells fitted in the rectangular base section, the four ringed pillar movement with rectangular plates, fusee going train with verge escapement rising above the plates, twin barrels for hour and quarter strike, the back plate with calibrated and rosette engraved countwheel and signed Joseph Anshom/Schoener; losses -- 8¾in. (22cm.) wide
