An early Victorian rosewood and cut-brass inlaid striking table clock, circa 1840
With carved finial to the scroll and chamfer top, silk-backed brass fishscale sound frets to the sides and brass-lined chamfered front angles, with gadrooned mouldings to the base and raised on gadrooned feet, the silvered and engraved square dial with scroll spandrels to the Roman chapter ring, signed in the centre Aubert & Klaftenberger/REGENT STREET/london, with blued steel heart-shaped hands, the eight day twin chain fusee movement with strike on gong, with pendulum holdfast to the back plate with repeat signature -- 19¼in. (49cm.) high
