A Charles X bronze and ormolu striking portico clock, circa 1825
With vine leaf and grape wreath mounts to the entablature, the base applied with a further mount cast as cornnucopiae flanking a vase and the rectangular feet cast with birds pecking at grapes, with acanthus cast bezel and conforming centre to the dial with Roman chapter ring and signed NICOD A PARIS, blued steel moon hands, the eight day twin barrel movement with countwheel strike on pendulum, the bob for the gridiron pendulum cast with rosettes -- 18½in. (47cm.) high
