A Regency small mahogany and ebony inlaid longcase clock, circa 1820
The hood with stepped and chamfered top, ripple cornice mouldings, pierced sound frets to the sides and canted angles flanking brass-lined fielded panels to the front, the arched trunk door also with ebony banding and flanked by canted angles, the plinth with moulded panelling and on a stepped base, the 11in. diameter white painted Roman dial with subsidiary seconds ring, signed Barrauds'/Cornhill LONDON/1260, with brass hands, the eight day movement with shouldered plates joined by five pillars, deadbeat escapement and rack strike on bell, maintaining power, the wood rod (later) pendulum with brass lenticular bob with calibrated rating nut -- 75½in. (192cm.) high
