Lot Essay

This Windsor chair has the unusual feature of having its legs connected by box-form stretchers, a feature normally only found in English Windsor chairs made in the village of Yealmpton in Devon during the first half of the 19th century . This example was originally painted with blue/green paint and now has later coats of brown paint.
