This golden flower-embossed screen is likely to have been acquired in the 1840s by Colonel Robert Myddelton Biddulph's and served in the Red Drawing Room to conceal the Saloon door.It appears in this position, near the hearth, in an 1862 watercolour of the room executed by the Hon. Mrs Mary Wombwell (from an album retained by the Myddelton family).
