1) Indice Cronologico e Spoglio Delle Cartapecore attenenti alla Casa Rinuccini, manuscript on paper, [Florence] 1785: the Calendar of deeds and documents recording legal transactions, grants and privileges involving members of the Rinuccini family from 1388 to 1707. 4° (233 x 182mm). BINDING: gold-tooled sheep, c. 1785, perhaps Florentine, narrow border on sides, fleurons in the corners, Rinuccini arms in central compartment, smaller fleuron in compartments of spine, marbled edges (worn).

2) Degree conferring a doctorate in both laws on Giovanni di Pierfrancesco Rinuccini, awarded by the University of Pisa in the name of Giuliano Medici, archbishop of Pisa, with decorative border and illuminated headpiece, manuscript on vellum, Pisa 15 June 1621. (227 x 164mm). BINDING: contemporary gold-tooled morocco-grained fawn sheep, probably Roman, roll-tooled outer border, gouges forming variously shaped compartments containing small tools such as flowers, masks, dolphins, volutes, red and green fabric ties, with the archbishop's seal in seal box (lacking lid, edges of binding rubbed).
3) Diploma of the Senato e Popolo Romani, conferring the privileges of citizenship on the brothers Francesco, Carlo and Giovanni Rinuccini, 'Nobiles Florentinos', manuscript on vellum, titlepage written in liquid gold, Rome 11 June 1635. (229 x 162mm). BINDING: contemporary Roman gold-tooled red morocco, perhaps by the Andreoli shop, roll-tooled borders, straight and curved fillets forming compartments of various small tools including a grotesque, crowned armorial device of the Roman Senate in the centre of the front cover, fabric ties (Rinuccini arms erased from back cover, seal removed leaving a small round hole in lower inner corner of the covers)

4) Degree conferring a doctorate in law on marchese Giovanni de Folco Rinnucini, awarded by the University of Pisa, manuscript on vellum, 12 December 1707. (220 x 155mm). BINDING: contemporary gold-tooled brown morocco, perhaps Pavian, sides panelled with fillets and floral rolls, fan ornament in the centre, blue and pink fabric ties.

5) Encomium supporting the award of a degree to Giovanni Rinuccini by an unnamed university, unbound manuscript on paper, [probably Pisa 1707].

6) Degree conferring a doctorate in both laws on Giuseppe Maria Dugnano, awarded by the University of Pavia in the name of Hieronymus Meltius, bishop of Pavia, manuscript on vellum with a painted headpiece, Pavia 15 March 1662. (214 x 145mm). BINDING: contemporary gold-tooled red morocco, Pavian or perhaps Milanese roll-tooled outer borders, elaborate fan ornament and small floral tools filling the compartment of a large saltire, pink fabric ties (rubbing on front cover).

Items 1-5 were part of the archive of the Rinuccini family of Florence, most widely known for their discerning activity as patrons of art and architecture in their native city. (6)
