A Stuart five pillar compound vertical reversing launch engine
built by G.B.Houghton, Rochester. With blued steel clad cylinders ¾in and 1¼in bore x 7/8in stroke, draincocks, lever and quadrant operated Stephenson's link reversing, studded stuffing boxes, three main bearings with lubricator cups, disc flywheel and propeller shaft with two bladed bronze propeller and shaft bearing with lubricator cups. Finished in red and polished brightwork. Mounted on black wood base in brass framed glazed case. Measurements overall --6½ x 12in (16.5 x 30.5cm)
