Lot Essay

Enamelled by Giuliano for Kempson and Mauger. This fan is not typical of his work since generally he used large amounts of precious stones. However, pink and opal colours are distinctive of his style and it is of extremely fine quality. The spiral decoration is very unusual and difficult to execute.
