A sampler by F Smith aged eleven years and dated 1751, worked in ochre, blue and green silks to a wool ground, with rows of alphabets above verse, within a stylised trailing floral border --11½ x 7in. (29 x 18.5cm.), damages, glazed and framed; and another miniature sampler, worked in coloured silks to a wool ground with rows of alphabets above spot motifs, including a bird in a cage, a gentleman leading a lion and floral motifs, bearing initials MS and dated 1800--5 x 5in. (12.5 x 12.5cm.), within a glazed frame (2)
