A lady's two-piece day gown of lilac ribbed silk, the front opening fitted bodice fastening with self-fabric covered buttons, high neckline, long sleeves and trimmed with lilac satin to the shoulders, front and back panels and cuffs; matching belt with bow detailing to reverse, full skirt and additional matching evening bodice with short sleeves and neckline trimmed with machine made lace; together with a white cotton underskirt and a lilac, black and white striped silk gauze fringed shawl, some minor faults, circa 1865
