I.J. Messer; British, Early 19th century
An early 19th century 'T' frame octant with inlaid ivory scale divided into degrees, the brass vernier with clamp and fine screw adjustment, signed on the inset ivory plaque on the 'T' bar I.J. Messer, London. With three shades, 2 mirrors, one pin hole sight, the reverse with note plaque and brass feet.
12 x 10 x 3¾ in. (30.5 x 25.4 x 9.5 cm.)
