A static display model of the Gold Cup Racer Dixie II
this model has a hull built up with mahogany planking, a blue painted bottom and a copper waterline. At the bow of the model is a brass stem guard which runs from the deck to the keel. The deck of the model is also planked in mahogany and carries a deep camber through the engine mounts. All of the mahogany is finished with a medium gloss varnish. The model is well detailed with stem fitting, cleats, jack staff, ventilator, splash rail, engine exhausts, steering wheel, steering cables, cockpit with seats and dashboard details, American yacht ensign, etc. The model is displayed on a pair of brass pedestals in a glass case with a mahogany base and brass trim.

Dixie II, modelled after Dixie, had a hull that was flatter aft and a rounded transom. Moreover, Henry M. Crane's engine design proved to be a giant leap into the future. The engine was designed, built and tested in only 6 months. Between 1907 and 1909 Dixie II won nearly every race she entered, and she entered many. Her hull was modigfied in 1909, and her engine output was increased. The new Dixie II was soundly defeated at Monaco in the spring of 1909.
