Each with curved caned back above a buttoned squab cushion, on reeded tapering legs and tapering feet, one incised 'WW', the other 'WK' (2)

Lot Essay

A very similar Regency caned mahogany side chair, attributed to Gillows, with a moulded frame also surmounted by a fleur de lis device was sold anonymously, Sotheby's, London, 26 September 1997, lot 141. A further pair with baluster turned back struts was sold anoymously, Christie's, London, 20 September 2001, lot 110.
