Lot Essay

Montblanc's ball-ended clip was used briefly between 1930-32 before it was redesigned with a more streamlined 'teardrop' end. It is thought that the change was made because there were too many similarities to Parker's Duofold clip and that a design unique to Montblanc was more appropriate.
