A pair of Derby figures of a Shepherd and Shepherdess
CIRCA 1775, INCISED LETTERS H AND G
The shepherd modelled seated on flowering bocage, wearing a black cap, long pink jacket, flowered waistcoat and yellow breeches, he plays the bagpipe before a recumbent hound, on a gilt scroll-moulded base (head re-stuck, hairline crack to side of jacket, light chipping to bocage); his companion similarly modelled seated on flowering bocage, wearing a pink headdress, turquoise bodice and flowered skirt, she plays the mandolin before a sheep, on a gilt scroll-moulded base (light chipping to extremities and bocage)
