CIRCA 1775-1800, ONE MILK-JUG WITH BLUE CRESCENT MARK, THE CUP WITH GILT PAINTER'S P MARK
The first fluted example of waisted pear-shaped form, painted with an urn within a gilt cartouche, with blue husks and gilt swags suspended from a dark-blue border gilt with interlaced C-scrolls, below a shaped gilt rim; the second example spirally-moulded and painted with a border of blue berries and gilt leaves; the reeded coffee-cup and saucer painted with cartouches of billing doves nesting, below the banner L'AMITI, within gilt wreaths and below a band of leaves enriched with blue berries and further scattered gilt sprigs (some light rubbing to enamels and gilding) (3)
