A Continental porcelain quarter-length bust of Louis XVI and another similar of Marie Antoinette
LATE 19TH CENTURY, THE FIRST WITH CROWNED N MARK, THE SECOND WITH SHIELD MARK
Louis XVI modelled looking slightly to the left, his long grey hair curled to the sides, his facial details picked out in peachy tones and grey, wearing an iron-red jacket enriched in gilt, a green sash, a puce shawl moulded with gilt medals, on a stepped gilt-lined socle base; Marie-Antoinette modelled looking slightly to the right, her curled grey hair applied with a pink ribbon and gilt headband, wearing a pink dress painted with scattered flower-sprays, a green drape, on a similar gilt-lined socle base (light rubbing to gilding, the first with a very shallow footrim chip, the second with a hairline crack across base, very light flaking to enamels)
