A pair of French biscuit figures of a gentleman and companion
19TH CENTURY, APPLIED BLUE G J FOR GILES LEUNE SEAL MARKS
He modelled leaning across a tripod table holding a glass, wearing a green jacket, a ruffled shirt, a flowered waistcoat, blue and flowered breeches, a helmet proped up against the table on the floor and a bottle knocked over on the table top, on a circular base applied with white 'jewelling' and painted with blue and puce scrolls reserved on a yellow ground; she is modelled leaning to her left, wearing a pink bodice with long white and blue sleeves and a flowered white skirt, standing on a similar base (minor losses to glazes and restoration)
