THE WATCH SIGNED ISAAC BIRDWHISELL, LONDON, THE INNER CASE WITH MARK OF IR, LONDON, 1704; OUTER CASE WITH MARK OF IR
The gilt brass movement with verge escapement, chain fusée, pierced and engraved floral and scroll decoration to the cock and foot, tapered pillars, the gilt dial with black Roman numerals bordered by black Arabic five minute divisions, stylized blued steel hands, all hinged within a circular plain inner case, the outer case later chased circa 1750, with a detailed scene in high relief depicting two classical figures in an architectural landscape, dial and movement signed, the case marked on interior, the outer case struck with maker's mark five times
