Lot Essay

Very little information is available on the foundry Maison Marnyhac. They are known to have worked for the celebrated artists Jean-Baptiste Clésinger and Frédéric-Eugène Piat with two addresses in Paris, 1, Rue de la Paix and 26, Avenue de l'Opéra.
They were awarded the Gold Medal at the Paris Great Exhibition of 1878.
