An English ormolu-mounted cut brass and tortoiseshell-inlaid ebonised 'Boulle' bureau plat
In the Régence style, Third quarter 19th Century
The rectangular top inlaid in contre-partie with Berainesque designs of dancing figures in pavilions surrounded by scrolling foliage, above a shaped frieze inlaid in première-partie, the front with three drawers, the reverse with apparent drawers, the ends each applied with an Apollo mask, on tapering cabriole legs headed by lion-mask clasps, terminating in acanthus-capped feet, the locks stamped 2 LEVER and with H struck through with an arrow, with later protective glass top
