An English mahogany thirty-hour longcase clock
The movement by John May, London. First quarter 18th Century.
The 11in. (28cm.) square gilt-brass dial with engraved border and cherub and coronet spandrels to chapter ring with half hour and half quarter hour markers, signed JOHN MAY LONDON, matted centre with rosette engraving the posted frame movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike with two bells; the 19th Century mahogany case with ripple mouldings and lenticle glass
