Thuillier, Paris. Second quarter 18th Century
The case with foliate trellis work side panels and pendulum-viewing panel to the front, white enamel convex dial signed THUILLIER/A PARIS, engraved brass hands, the eight day twin barrel movement with rectangular plates with curved upper corners and joined by four ringed and back-pinned pillars, verge escapement with silk suspension, repeat signature to back plate with double countwheel system, striking hours and quarters on two bells above with just one hammer unusuallly rising and falling to strike the lower bell at the quarters and then the upper bell at the the hour
