The 29 cm. (11½in.) square cut-away brass dial with bird and urn spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with silvered plaque signed John Porthouse/PENRITH, date aperture, pierced steel hands, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and large uncut countwheel strike on bell
