A very large Dutch Delft blue and white chinoiserie charger
ATTRIBUTED TO WOUTER OR SAMUEL VAN EENHOORN AT DE GRIEKSCHE A, 1660-1680
Inspired by Chinese porcelain of the Transitional period, painted in blue with dark blue Trek, the centre with a triple-line medallion depicting a scene with two Mandarins and a servant holding a large umbrella, surrounded by lotus-leaf lappets or Lambrequins enclosing scrolls and flowers, the wide border with four pointed panels with scenes depicting Orientals at various pursuits and one with a European trader, alternating blue-ground scale motifs and scrolls reserved with flowers, with blue line rim (hairline cracks)
