MOSTLY MARKED AMSTEL IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE, VARIOUSLY INCISED WITH L AND VARIOUS NUMERALS, 1780-1790
Finely painted in colours with elaborate Dutch riverscapes probably depicting the Loosdrecht lakes and the rivers Amstel and Gein near Amsterdam, upon root vignettes, further with scattered flower sprays, the gilt rims with interlaced ovals, with acorn finials, comprising: a baluster coffee pot and cover, with loop handle, 25.9 cm. high; a pair of cylindrical teapots and covers, with à la grecque handles, 13 cm. high; a cylindrical milk jug with generous spout and à la grecque handle, 11.4 cm. high; a sugar bowl and cover; a slopbowl, 22 cm. diam.; a pair of pattipans with wavy border, 13.7 cm. diam; five cylindrical teacups and saucers; twelve cylindrical coffee cups and saucers (46)
