In the 1970 European Cup Final, played at the San Siro, Milan, on 6th May 1970, Feyenoord defeated Celtic 2-1 before a crowd of 53,000.
Tommy Gemmell scored the opening goal for Celtic in the 29th minute of the match. Two minutes later Feyenoord equalised through Israel and in extra-time Kindvall scored the winner for the Dutch side
