The rectangular plate in a shaped frame, carved with husks, on a pounced ground with conforming shaped cresting board centred by overhanging leaf flanked by eagles heads, re-gessoed and re-gilt, the plate resilvered.

Lot Essay

Colonel Mulliner was a well-known collector in the early 20th century and owner of the coachbuilders Mulliner Park Ward, creators of some of the greatest Rolls Royce cars. He published The Decorative Arts in England, 1923, from his collection which was sold Christie's London, 10 July 1924
