Lot Essay

Dodgson and Co. was founded by the cabinet-maker George Dodgson of Ulverston, Lancashire, who is recorded between 1822-28. Although the Patent details of the handles are untraced, the Dixon is probably George Dixon of Bolton, Lancashire, who came from a cabinet-making dynasty long-asssociated with Gillows.
