Lot Essay

George Plantagenet (1449-1478) was the third son of Richard, Duke of York and the brother of King Edward IV. He played a duplicitous role during the Wars of the Roses and was depicted in William Shakespeare's Richard III where he drowns in a vat of Malmsey.
