Lot Essay

Possibly the 'Handsome Work Table' recorded in the Drawing Room in the 1839 Inventory.

This table, attributed to George Bullock (d.1818) corresponds to that of a teapoy that was amongst the furniture acquired around 1815 by the Portuguese Ambassador to London Don Pedro de Souza e Holstein (d.1850) from George Bullock (sold property of a Gentleman, Christie's London, 6 July 1995, lot 43). It is designed en suite with the table, lot 860.
