PROPERTY FROM THE COLLECTION OF MR. AND MRS. JOHN CREWS RAINEY (LOTS 9 - 22) After John Crews Rainey received his masters degree in architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he worked under the renowned International School architect, Edward Durrell Stone from 1960-69 on diverse projects such as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington D.C.; the General Motors Building, New York; the U.S. Ambassador's residence, New Delhi; the estate of Ayub Khan, Islamabad; and the Water and Power Development Authority, Lahore. Most of the Rainey collection of Gandharan art was formed during the 1960's.
