Carved with two Tathagathas seated within niches surrounded by scrollwork and two peacocks within a beaded frame with flame borders, one side with gold outline of a kirttimuhka
7½ x 27 3/8 in. (19 x 69.4 cm.)

Lot Essay

The similarities in size, details such as the beaded rim borders, and side decorations, indicate that this cover and the following lot 108, though not an exact pair, were likely made as part of a larger sutra set.
