Imperial 4° (385 x 305mm). Half title, title in red and black, coloured portrait frontispiece, 18 plates on india paper mounted, 5 double-page, numerous illustrations, most coloured or tinted, one folding hand-coloured map. (Plate list almost detached.) Original white buckram, upper cover blocked in gitl and black, spine lettered in gilt, imitation snakeskin endpapers, top edges gilt, publisher's card slip-case (light soiling to spine).
