FIRST EDITION of Paterson's description of the four plant-hunting trips he made for his patroness, the Countess of Strathmore. 14 of the 17 plates are botanical. (Slight tears to the large map of the Cape, 2 other large maps browned and repaired on verso of folds, light offsetting to plates, light browning to text, half-title with small bookseller's stamp on verso).
