A wedding present given to Mr and Mrs H.M. Stanley on the occasion of their marriage, 12 July 1890: a Macintyre glazed pink ground tea-service à deux, comprising a bombé teapot (lacking cover), sugar bowl and milk jug, two cups and saucers, all with salmon borders and entwined initials of Stanley and his wife within red lined cartouche, and shaped oval tray with moulded handles with gilt foliate decoration, centred by a map of Africa, between two cartouches with the entwined initials of Stanley and his wife joined by a ribbon with the date '12th July 1890', all embellished with gilt fillets, the tray 16in. (405mm.) long
