Lot Essay

These autographs were collected by Stuart Wealleans, the lighting engineer at the Civic Hall in Croydon, London. During his career, Mr Welleans became friendly with the bands who appeared at the venue, and in particular, The Rolling Stones. Bill Wyman became a good friend and it was he who obtained The Beatles' signatures for Mr Wealleans' collection. The Who signed publicity photograph in Lot 100 is also from this collection.
