The top finely decorated in high relief with narcissus growing from rocks reserved against a matte ground, all gilded within the raised barbed edge of the cartouche, the sides of the box inlaid in fine gold wire with flower sprigs, birds and insects and the rims with herringbone bands, all in contrast to the blackish patina, the interior gilded, raised on a ring foot
