The deep grey limestone subtly lightening in tone towards the base and accented with a single slender white vein, in the form of closely massed vertical peaks, furrowed and perforated to suggest an ancient landscape, two facing peaks with partially obliterated intaglio inscriptions in kaishu (regular script), the surface with a softly wrinkled texture
