Born in Jamaica, New York, Albert Van Nesse Greene worked in Pennsylvania from 1909 to 1927, and exhibited often at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Greene studied at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington, D.C., The Art Students League, New York, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was a member of the Philadelphia Sketch Club and the Society of Independent Artists.
