The exterior surface of all pieces left undecorated to reveal the natural wood grain and covered with clear lacquer, the edges roiro-nuri and the interiors red lacquer; the set comprising a three-tier stacking box, a rectangular sweet tray set on four feet and decorated on the edges with silver lacquer simulating pewter, two rectangular boxes and a rectangular sake flask, the open carrying case fitted with a brass ring handle; removable smoking set comprising a stand decorated en suite to the picnic set, an ash cup, a receptacle for tobacco embers and a match box
