Designed in gold, black and red hiramaki-e and gold takamaki-e and nashiji on a roiro-nuri ground, comprising a four-tier rectangular stacking box, a rectangular covered food box, a large rectangular sake container and a square footed tray and sake cup, the frame decorated with folded and open fans with scenes of the Tale of Genji, birds and flowers and grape vines, the edges lacquered with scrolling vines, the food boxes decorated with shells and seaweed or autumn plants, the sake container decorated with large chrysanthemum heads and a dancing Shojo on the top, the tray and cup with a landscape scene; interiors red lacquer, edges fundame; brass loop handle
